Google on Monday celebrated the 218th birth anniversary of Belgian physicist Joseph Antoine Ferdinand Plateau. Plateau was the brain behind a device called phénakistiscope — which led to the birth of cinema by creating an illusion of a moving image. His fundamental research consisted of only 27 pages and made several fundamental conclusions.
